The always great Soheir Abaza has organized a demonstration today for the release of Tarek Shalaby with a scheduled cameo appearance by the Freedom Motel; below is exact information:
- Location: Tahrir Square
- Date / Time: Wednesday, 18th May @ 4pm
- Purpose: To press for the release of Tarek Shalaby & all those unjustly arrested
You are encouraged to bring signs, etc & please spread the word & lets try get Shalaby & the other brave men and women back home where they belong.
Some info on the demo from the Facebook Event:
1) This demonstration is intended to last for a few hours. It is not a sit-in and there is no intention to spend the night there or violate curfew.
2) For the banners & Slogans:
- They are to express our deep concern for the detainees’ rights as citizens because this could be anyone of us.
- This is not a hate rally against SCAF or the Military
3) This is a PEACEFUL demonstration for Tarek and the 160 detainees to ensure their rights are being observed and due process is being implemented.
In the event of any violence, we will call for an end to the event immediately
